Homeowners may hear them scurrying around in the attic or on the roof early in the morning or late afternoon. Squirrels can do considerable damage making holes to get into the home and once inside gnawing on electrical wiring possibly causing a short or a fire. Squirrels can also be carriers of fleas and other unwanted organisms that will infest the structure after they gain entry.
